Manufacturing and OEM partnership

Glorinda is the brand owner and technical authority; qualified partners do the manufacturing. Four ways to structure that, depending on what each side is good at.

Overview

Overview

Glorinda develops products under its own brand and has them manufactured by qualified OEM partners. We manage the technical specifications, the branding, the quality control and the final product, and we develop customised products to meet specific project requirements when needed. We do not operate our own factories, and we say so plainly — including to customers, because a procurement engineer who discovers it during vendor qualification trusts you less than one who was told.

Rather than constructing enormous complexes with high maintenance costs and low efficiency, this model addresses a concern that matters more: cost reduction while maintaining quality. Using optimal engineering in conjunction with existing production capacity, Glorinda can deliver products that are both high quality and competitive in price, across a wide variety of equipment for a wide range of industries — which means we can supply the required equipment for a whole process or plant, giving the process a greater degree of integrity.

We are responsible for installation, triggering, repair and after-sales services, and we offer a warranty on each product.

Four branding models

Full production under the Glorinda brand

Production and fabrication are carried out entirely by the manufacturer under the Glorinda brand. All tests and certifications are performed at the manufacturer's facility.

Manufacturer design and main parts, Glorinda final assembly

The manufacturer designs the entire package or system and supplies the main parts, which are shipped to Glorinda's facility. The remaining parts and items are supplied, and final assembly and all tests and certifications are completed at Glorinda's facility. The final package or system carries the Glorinda brand.

Manufacturer design only

Only the design of the package or system is done by the manufacturer. Glorinda handles the supply of parts, full assembly, and all tests and certifications. The final package or system carries the Glorinda brand.

Glorinda engineering, partner manufacturing

Glorinda handles engineering and design, while manufacturing or integration is carried out by our partner facilities.

What a partner gets

Global business connectivity

A network across Europe, MENA and the CIS, giving pre-existing knowledge of key customers, identification of emerging opportunities, and help expanding market reach and establishing connections in global markets.

In-depth market insight

Market-oriented data gathered continuously and used for market adjustments; strategic insight into what matters in each market; and proposals for new applications the partner may not have explored, creating new references.

A strong local presence

A dedicated technical service team for reliable after-sales support; warehouse facilities holding products and spare parts in the target region to cut delivery time and cost; efficient support unconstrained by time zones and distance; and active participation in international exhibitions and local events.

Part of a bigger picture

The favourable perception of German origin alongside your technology; trust under a reputable brand; and synergies in a diverse product range, so you can participate in projects even where you are not the primary supplier.

Who this is for

We call them Local Heroes: companies holding valuable knowledge, innovative technologies and revolutionary ideas, with real potential to become key players — but held back by obstacles that have nothing to do with the quality of their product:

  • Distance to target markets
  • Time zone differences
  • Cultural barriers
  • Limited workforce
  • Limited financial capabilities
  • Inability to provide after-sales services in the target market
  • Lack of international experience and credit for participation in larger projects

Why a good product is not enough

In the global marketplace, companies that make a good product but provide poor local service support are seriously disadvantaged. Building a robust presence in the target region — technical service, spare parts availability, responsive support and credible local references — is what converts product quality into market share.

If you have a technology rather than a manufacturing capability, the startup accelerator is the closer fit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Glorinda manufacture in its own factories?

No. Glorinda is the brand owner and technical authority. Products are developed under the Glorinda brand and manufactured by qualified OEM partners inside a quality-controlled supply chain we specify and audit.

Which of the four models is most common?

It depends entirely on what each side is strongest at. A manufacturer with mature production and certification usually fits model one; a company with excellent design and limited assembly capacity fits models two or three; a company with capacity but no engineering fits model four.

Who owns the intellectual property?

That is agreed in the partnership contract, and it varies by model. We are explicit about it at the term sheet stage rather than leaving it to be discovered later.

Do you handle after-sales in the target market?

Yes — that is a large part of the point. A dedicated technical service team and warehouse facilities in the target region provide after-sales support and spare parts availability, reducing delivery time and cost and building customer confidence.

What contract structures are available?

Ten, ranging from supply and offtake agreements to exclusive distribution, joint ventures, licensing, tolling and build-operate-transfer. They are listed on the trading and procurement page.
